United World Chinese Association was established in Hong Kong in August, 1992, and is an unremitting endeavor of the Association founder Mr. Cheng Wanqi and a group of famous Chinese who share a common goal for more than 2 decades. The United World Chinese Association is a global community the members of which mainly consist of overseas Chinese, and with now 6000,000 members, the Association is by far the largest and comprehensive non-governmental organization for overseas Chinese, and also the world’s largest patriotic non-governmental organization. The Association aims to achieve "peace, love and development", and has successfully gathered the strengths of more than 50,000,000 overseas Chinese and promoted Chinese civilization, and makes an outstanding contribution to promote the economic and cultural development of the country where they are in and enhanced the exchange and communication between China and foreign countries. 

In addition, under the leadership of the founder and Professor Cheng Wanqi, the United World Chinese Association united together famous Chinese entrepreneurs Ma Wanqi, He Hongshen, Yang Shoucheng, Zeng Xianzhi, Zhuang Yanlin, Huo Zhenghuan, Chen Yushu, Fan Guangling, Chen Yongcai, Li Sanchun, Lin Shaoliang and the famous late patriotic industrialist Huo Yingdong, which makes an outstanding contribution to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and wins high praise from Party and state leaders. 

Association founder Mr Cheng Wanqi and Permanent Honorary Chairman Mr. He Hongshen, Mr. Zeng Xianzhi, Mr. Zhuang Yanlin and Mr. Yang Guang made a professional review and elaborate research. Chairman Li made splendid achievements and outstanding contribution to the society. He is diligent and hardworking, vigorously dedicated to his career, changes his fate through his hands, and holds forward-looking vision. He established Glory Harvest Group in 2006, served as Group Chairman, achieved notable results through bold decisions which enhances the economic development of Chinese mainland and strengthens the trade exchanges between Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. Dr. Li Weibo is more commended for his care to the social disadvantaged groups. He is the premier of Yan Chai Hospital, and donated HKD 30,000,000 to education fields. Therefore, the Association decided to bestow Dr. Li Weibo the World Outstanding Chinese award and the honorary doctor degree of University of West Alabama .
